Prior to September 4, 2024, Titan offered a fee-free self-directed option for investing in the ARK Venture Fund. On September 4, 2024, Titan announced that it would begin charging any new users $25 per month to open an account on the app. According to Titan’s new terms of service, all existing investors that don’t opt out of the new membership fee by January 1, 2025, will be charged the $25 fee going forward. To maintain exposure to the ARK Venture Fund without monthly subscription fees, investors can seamlessly transfer existing shares from Titan to SoFi. In fact, SoFi is offering monetary incentives (up to $10,000 based on the transfer amount) for investors to move their accounts. Please see below for information on how to initiate a transfer of assets to SoFi.
In addition to the incentive, transferring your fund shares has other benefits over liquidating, including avoiding a taxable event and the liquidity restrictions of the fund.
If You Do Not Have a SoFi Account:
- Open a SoFi Active Invest account from the SoFi app. On the Invest tab, click the double arrow button in the bottom right, and select “Transfer assets.”
- When prompted choose the SoFi Invest account where your investments will be transferred, then search for and select “Titan” as the source of the transfer. Next, provide your Titan account number and select the transfer type.
- SoFi will initiate and process your transfer in the coming days.
If You Already Have a SoFi Account:
- Log into your SoFi account from the SoFi app. On the Invest tab, click the double arrow button in the bottom right, and select “Transfer assets.”
- When prompted choose the SoFi Invest account where your investments will be transferred, then search for and select “Titan” as the source of the transfer. Next, provide your Titan account number and select the transfer type.
- SoFi will initiate and process your transfer in the coming days.
